Our prayers have finally been answered—MAC Cosmetics has decided to add 65 new shades to their permanent collection! This doesn’t mean they’re going to release a limited edition collection of four or five great polishes and then break our hearts by taking them away. These colors are here to stay!
Beginning in July, MAC will start rolling out the first 30 shades and finish up with the remaining 35 come fall. The permanent collection only had eight shades before MAC decided to up the anty. With the way nail designs are growing and trending, it seems as if the company has made a great decision. Guilliaume Jessel, senior vice president of MAC’s global marketing told WWD, “We support hundreds of fashion shows and we were starting to see an increased emphasis on nails over the last few seasons.”
The 65 shades are a giant range of colors from peaches and pinks to reds and browns. The finishes vary also in pearl, frost and cream. Not every color in this permanent collection is brand new; some of them are re-releases from previous limited editions. If you are a limited edition lover, don’t worry! MAC still intends to release them. The new colors will be available at MAC stores and Nordstrom for $16.
